part of the Transportation Regional Advisory Network System (TRANSystem), the
New York State Canal Corporation now offers a free email service (TRANSalert) to
its customers to inform them of major Canal incidents and emergencies that may affect
navigation on the New York State Canal System.

Please note: The TRANSalert system is different from the Notices to Mariners
that are also issued by the Corporation.
The Canal Corporation continues to issue regular Notices to Mariners to provide
boaters and community residents with important information regarding travel,
emergency and non-emergency incidents and events happening on the Canal System.
Notices to Mariners are available by calling 1-800-4CANAL4 (choose prompt 3) or
on the Canal Corporation website.
