Canal Corporation and Partners to Kick-Off Upcoming Canal Splash! Weekend

New York State Canal Corporation Director Carmella R. Mantello will join representatives from The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, local officials and event organizers at Mabee Farm Historic Site in Rotterdam Junction, Schenectady County, on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. to kick off the 2nd annual Canal Splash! weekend.

The three-day celebration takes place August 10-12 and will highlight the history, culture, recreational appeal and beauty of the New York State Canal System and the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor. This year’s Canal Splash! features 100 events and activities including nature walks, educational exhibits, boating events and races, musical performances and tours.

From the East: Take NYS Thruway (I-90 West) towards Buffalo to Interchange 25 (Schenectady). Take I-890 towards Amsterdam to Exit 1A (Route 5S). The Farm is 2.7 miles on your right.

From the West: Take NYS Thruway (I-90 East) towards NYC to Interchange 26 toward Rotterdam Junction. Take Exit 1A to Route 5S. The Farm is 2.7 miles on your right.
