NYS Canal Corporation to Open Remaining Canal Sections in Central NY
Carmella R. Mantello, Director of the New York State Canal Corporation, will
join State and local officials, Canal Corporation employees and members of the
public to celebrate the opening of the remaining portions of the New York State
Canal System in Central New York for the 2007 season on Friday, May 11 at 11:30
a.m. at Lock O-1 in Phoenix, Oswego County (directions below).
Members of the media, including photographers, are invited to attend and film
the first boats entering the Oswego Canal.

Directions to Lock O-1:
From the New York State Thruway: Interchange 38 (Syracuse, Liverpool) North onto
Rte 57 to Phoenix. Turn left onto Lock Road.
From Route 481: Follow Rte 481 to Phoenix (Exit 13). Take left, go to the end
and take a right. Follow County Rte 57 to Phoenix. Take a left onto Lock Road.
