New York State Canal Corporation Director Carmella R. Mantello will make an announcement regarding operation on the Canal System for the remainder of the 2006 season at a press conference on Friday, September 15, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Lock E-6 in Waterford, NY (directions below).
Members of the media, including photographers, are invited to attend.

Directions to Lock E-6: Take the NYS Thruway to Interchange 23 to I-787 northbound to the end. Turn right onto Route 32 north. After the second bridge, take a left onto 8th Street. Go to the end and take a left onto Washington Street (over railroad tracks). Continue ½ mile and take left onto “Flight Lock Road.” Lock 6 will be visible on left side of road.
NOTE: In case of inclement weather, the press conference will take place ¼ mile past Lock E-6 on Flight Lock Road at Al Cathy’s boat launch. Canal Corporation employees will be on-site to direct traffic to the rain location.
