Great International Steamboat Flotilla Chugs into Macedon June 19th
Macedon, NY -- The Great International Steamboat Flotilla has announced its annual meet will take place on the Erie Canal in Macedon the week of June 19, 2006. Nearly two-dozen boats are already registered for the event, taking place at Mid-Lakes Macedon Landing Marina on Canandaigua Road. The flotilla was first organized in 1973 in Kingston, Ontario and usually attracts between 15-20 boats, making this year’s meet one of the largest ever.
According to meet organizers, a majority of the boats will be 20-30 foot, wood-burning launches. Throughout the week-long event, the vessels will be cruising the Canal between Newark and Pittsford.
The event is open to the public. For more information regarding this
