Historic Vessel Completing Tour of the New York State Barge Canal

Lieutenant Governor Mary O. Donohue and the New York State Canal
Corporation, in partnership with the New York State Museum, the Erie Canalway
National Heritage Corridor Commission, the Canal Society of New York, and the
Town and Village of Waterford will host a reception and press conference to
welcome the historic motorship, Day Peckinpaugh, as it concludes its three-week
journey along the New York State Barge Canal from Lockport to Waterford.

Federal, State and local officials have been invited to attend.
Directions:
From 787-North: Proceed to end of I-787 and turn right onto Saratoga Avenue. Proceed over Union Bridge crossing Mohawk River into Waterford. Proceed north along Saratoga Avenue for approximately two miles. Just after the historic Waterford Rural Cemetery on the left, cross over Ninth Street Bridge over the Erie Canal and bear right onto Broad Street. Take right just before 126th Street Bridge onto First Street (half block after linking yellow light). Proceed to end of street. Parking is available at the Battery Park parking lot.
