New York State Canal Corporation seeking community input
in shaping the Erie Canal Greenway
Ribbon-cutting ceremony on 9-mile section of Erie
Canalway Trail
What:
The Canal Connections Tour will be arriving in Pittsford, NY. New York State
Canal Corporation Director Carmella R. Mantello will gather input and ideas from
Federal, State and local officials, community and business leaders, as well as
other groups interested in the Canal's future and Governor Pataki's proposal for
an Erie Canal Greenway and Empire State Greenway. The meeting will be followed
by the official opening of a new and rehabilitated 9-mile segment of the Erie
Canalway Trail at Lock 32 in Pittsford.

Directions:
From New York State Thruway: Take I-90 to exit 45, 490W to Bushnell's Basin, Exit 27. Take a right on Pittsford-Victor Road. Hotel is located on the right.
From Greater Rochester International Airport: Go East on Brooks Ave./NY to the I-390 S ramp. Take I-390 S until it becomes I-590 N Take RT-490 E Exit towards VICTOR, then merge onto I-490 E. Take the RT-96 exit #27 towards Bushnell Basin. Turn slightly to the Right onto the ramp. Then turn Right onto NY-96/Pittsford-Victor Rd. Hotel is located on the right.
Directions to Lock 32 from the Brookwood Inn:
From the Brookwood Inn: Take RT-96 3 miles North to Main Street in the Village of Pittsford. At Main Street, continue straight onto 252 (Jefferson Road) Take Jefferson Road 1.3 miles to RT-65 (Clover Street). Make a right hand turn onto Clover Street. Take Clover Street .3 miles, cross the canal and turn left into the Canal Park and parking area for Lock 32.
