CANAL CORPORATION ANNOUNCES CANALWAY TRAIL PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING TO BE HELD IN LITTLE FALLS
The New York State Canal Corporation will hold a meeting on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 to allow the public to review plans for development of an 8-mile Canalway Trail segment between Little Falls and Ilion.
The meeting will be held from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Little Falls Library, 706 Main Street in Little Falls.
During the first half hour there will be an Open House, providing the opportunity to view the project plans in an informal setting. An overview of the project will then be provided by Canal Corporation representatives and the project design consultants followed by a question and answer period.
The project is part of a $35 million program announced by Governor George E. Pataki in 2002 to complete the Erie Canalway Trail linking the Hudson River and Lake Erie. More than half of the 348-mile Erie Canalway Trail is now complete.
