Canal Corporation Director to Welcome Historic Fireboat, Announce New Waterford
Docks
The New York State Canal Corporation will hold a press conference at the Waterford Canal Harbor to welcome the historic New York City Fireboat John J. Harvey to the Erie Canal at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2005 at the Waterford facility.
Canal Director Carmella R. Mantello, Waterford Mayor J. Bert Mahoney, and Waterford Town Supervisor Jack Lawler will be on hand at a press conference. Mantello will also announce the continued improvements to the docking infrastructure

Directions: From the South: Proceed north on I-787 north. Proceed to end of I 787 and turn right onto Saratoga Avenue. Proceed over Union Bridge crossing Mohawk River into Waterford. Proceed north along Saratoga Avenue for approximately two miles. Just after the historic Waterford Rural Cemetery on the left, cross over Ninth Street Bridge over the Erie Canal and bear right onto Broad Street. Take right just before 126th Street Bridge onto First Street (half block after blinking yellow light). Proceed to end of street and park in Battery Park parking lot.
