NEW YORK STATE CANAL CORPORATION ANNOUNCES PORTION OF CAYUGA-SENECA CANAL CLOSED DUE TO A FUEL SPILL
The New York State Canal Corporation has just announced that Locks CS-2/3 (Seneca Falls) on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal will be closed until further notice due to an environmental spill.
At this time, the Department of Environmental Conservation is on the scene and will assess the fuel spill and determine clean up response. As soon as the clean up is completed, the closed section of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal will reopen to mariners.
The Canal Corporation regrets any inconvenience this closure may cause.
