Mariners are advised that Lock E-2 in Waterford to Lock
E-22 in New London is closed due to high water levels
caused by heavy rainfall, until further notice. This
section of the Canal will open as soon as conditions
allow.
The Canal Corporation appreciates the public’s patience.

www.nyscanals.gov. Additionally, mariners
may sign up for automatic e-mail and text message alerts
through the Canal TRANSalert service. This service is
offered to notify mariners of major incidents and
emergencies that may affect navigation on the New York
