Closure of Fort Edward Terminal Wall and Yacht Basin
Champlain
Canal
October 5,
2009
Mariners are
advised that the Fort Edward Terminal Wall and Yacht
Basin will be closed to all recreational traffic for the
remainder of this season, effective immediately. This
closure is necessitated by dredging operations related
to the Hudson River PCB dredging project being
administered by General Electric (GE) and the United
States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Additional
information about project-related activities affecting
navigation is reported weekly in a separate Notice to
Mariners.
For any
questions related to the dredging project, call the EPA
at (518) 747-4389 or GE at (518) 792-4087.
The Canal
Corporation appreciates the public’s patience during the
2009 Navigation Season.
