Mariners are advised that the Rotary Club of Rome, New
York is hosting a Water Skiing Show and other activities
as part of Canalfest between the dates of Friday, July
31, 2009 and Sunday, August 2, 2009. The event will be
located at the Bellamy Harbor Park, in Rome, between the
Mill St. Bridge (E-51) and the Rome Arterial Bridge
(E-52A).
The schedule of activities is listed below:
• Fireworks
displays, held adjacent to the Canal, beginning at 9:15
PM, on Friday, July 31, Saturday, August 1, and Sunday,
August 2.
• Four two-hour
water skiing shows to be held on Saturday, August 1 and
Sunday, August 2, beginning at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
•
Anything-but-a-boat-race, on Saturday, August 1,
beginning at 5:00 PM until 5:30 PM.
All events will take place north of the navigation
channel. Spotter boats will be located on each end of
the course during events.

Boaters are reminded to use caution in this area and be
mindful of their wakes as there will be ski boats and
skiers in the water adjacent to the navigation channel.
