To avoid any unnecessary inconvenience or delays, mariners
seeking passage through a Canal Corporation lock are advised to
arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the scheduled closing time.
Vessels which cannot safely pass through the structure prior to the
scheduled closing time will not be admitted.
Mariners are further advised to arrive at least 90 minutes prior
to the scheduled closing time if seeking to transit the Waterford
Flight (Locks E-2 through E-6) either eastbound or westbound. No
overnight docking within the Waterford Flight is permitted, and
average transit time through the Flight is 90 minutes.
Hours of operation for all locks for the 2008
navigation season are as follows:
May 1 - May 22: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
May 23 - September 3: 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM
September 4 - November 15: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Please note: The dates and hours of operation are dependent upon
weather.
