MARINERS

Reduced Bridge Clearances
May 6, 2008
Mariners are advised that, due to ongoing construction
activities, the published normal-pool clearance of Bridge C-4A in
Mechanicville of 24.39 feet will be reduced by 2 feet to 22.39 feet
for the duration of the 2008 navigation season. Also due to
construction activities, the published normal-pool clearance of
Bridge C-23 in Fort Ann of 18.98 feet is restricted to the normal
channel width of 75 feet. until further notice. Please use caution
when transiting these areas.
For updates and information, mariners are advised to monitor
1-800-4CANAL4 and www.nyscanals.gov. Additionally, mariners may sign
up for automatic e-mail and text message alerts through the new
Canal TRANSalert service. This service is offered to notify mariners
of major incidents and emergencies that may affect navigation on the
