MARINERS
2008 Navigation Season – Revised Operating Schedule
April 7, 2008
Mariners are
advised that the New York State Canal System is scheduled to open
for the 183rd consecutive navigation season on Thursday,
May 1, 2008, weather permitting. The operating schedule for the
2008 navigation season announced on 3/19/08 has been revised, and
the projected hours of operation for Canal Corporation locks and
lift bridges for the 2008 season are now as follows:

Mariners are
also reminded that recreational tolls for use of Canal System locks
and lift bridges have been reinstated for 2008, at the same rate as
2005, the last time tolls were in place. All boats passing through
any lock or lift bridge on the Canal System must purchase a Two-Day,
Ten-Day or Seasonal Pass. Fees for recreational craft are based on
vessel size as follows:

New York State
Canal System Two-Day, Ten-Day, and Seasonal Passes are available for
in-person purchase at a number of sales locations: designated Canal
System locks; Canal Corporation Section Headquarters (between 8:00
AM and 3:30 PM); Canal Corporation Headquarters (between 8:30 AM and
4:30 PM); and at designated vendor locations. Passes can also be
purchased through the mail by sending a request to New York State
Canal Corporation, P.O. Box 22058 Albany, New York 12201-2058.
