Bridge Rehabilitation

Mariners are advised that starting on April 1, 2008 and ending on December 31, 2008 bridge rehabilitation work will take place on the Route 291 Bridge, over the Erie Canal. This bridge is located west of Lock E-20 in the Town of Whitesboro and is identified as Fixed Bridge E-48A in NOAA Chart 14786.

Boaters should expect minor delays to navigation and are reminded to use caution when approaching this area. Canal staff at Lock E-20 and the contractor will monitor Channel 13 for vessel traffic control.

Additionally, mariners may sign up for automatic e-mail and text message alerts through the new Canal TRANSalert service.
