NOTICE TO
MARINERS
Erie Canal
October 11, 2007
Mariners are advised that the interim locking schedule between Lock
E-20 and Lock E-7 on the Erie Canal will be temporarily suspended
due to recent rainfall and corresponding increases in water levels.
Beginning at 7 AM on Friday, October 12th, 2007, locking
availability for recreational vessels will again be temporarily on
an “on demand” basis at these locks. If dry conditions resume,
scheduled lockings for recreational vessels will be reinstated.
Mariners are reminded that the Canal System is scheduled to close to
all recreational vessel traffic at 5 PM on Thursday, November 1st,
2007. The Canal System is scheduled to close to all commercial
vessel traffic at 5 PM on Wednesday, November 7th, 2007.
