NEW YORK STATE CANAL SYSTEM

Mariners are advised that the 2007 navigation season closing schedule has been revised. Due to persistent drought conditions in the Mohawk Valley limiting available water needed to maintain navigation levels, the Canal System will close to all recreational vessel traffic at 5 PM on Thursday, November 1st, 2007. The Canal System will close to all commercial vessel traffic at 5 PM on Wednesday, November 7th, 2007.

If moderate or heavy rainfall occurs in the Mohawk Valley prior to these revised closing dates, it is likely that the schedule will be revised back to the original November 15th, 2007 closing date for all vessels.
