Mariners are advised that the Alplaus Fire Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a “Paddling for a Cure” regatta on Sunday, July 22nd, from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The event will start at the Mohawk Marina, proceeding east to Buoy 57 and back to the marina. The location of the event is between Locks E-7 and E-8, in the vicinity of the Schenectady Yacht Club. Boaters are reminded to use caution and be mindful of their wakes in this area as there will be 75 to 150 canoes and kayaks participating over the duration of the event.

Additionally, mariners may sign up for automatic email and text message alerts through the new Canal TRANSalert service.
