Cayuga-Seneca Canal

Mariners are advised that the lower right gate at Lock 2 (lower portion of Lock CS-2/3) on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal is temporarily out of service. This lock remains open to vessel traffic; however commercial vessels or large vessels requiring both gates should contact Lock CS-2/3 in advance at (315) 568-5797.

For updates and information, mariners are advised to monitor 1-800-4CANAL4 and www.nyscanals.gov. Additionally, mariners may sign up for automatic email and text message alerts through the new Canal TRANSalert service. This service is offered to notify mariners of major incidents and emergencies that may affect navigation on the New York State Canal System.
