NOTICE TO
MARINERS
May 7, 2007
Mariners are advised that the Champlain Canal will open for
navigation at 12 PM on Tuesday, May 8, 2007. Debris and reduced
bridge clearances may still be encountered. Mariners should
exercise extreme caution in the vicinity of dams near Locks C-1
through C-6, especially when southbound, as barriers have not
yet been set in place.
In addition, the entire Oswego Canal, the Erie Canal between
E-23 in Brewerton and E-27 in Lyons, and Lock CS-1 on the
Cayuga-Seneca Canal are scheduled to open for navigation on
Friday, May 11, 2007. At that time, all 524 miles of the New
York State Canal System will be open for navigation.

www.nyscanals.gov for
updates and information.
