• November 13, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the New York State Canal System will be closed for the 2006 navigation season on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at 5 p.m
• November 10, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that a New York State Department of Transportation bridge replacement project will be affecting the south side of the channel 300 feet west of the River Road Bridge (Bridge E-27), in Mindenville
• November 6, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal from Lock E-22 in New London to Lock E-27 in Lyons, and Lock C/S-1 on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal and the entire length of the Oswego Canal have reopened to traffic
• October 31, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the north leaf of Guard Gate #4 in Little Falls is closed
• October 31, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the entire length of the Champlain Canal has reopened to traffic
• October 29, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal from Lock E-2 in Waterford to Lock E-27 in Lyons is closed, along with the entire Champlain and Oswego Canals and Lock C/S-1 on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal
• October 28, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal from Lock E-7 in Niskayuna to Lock E-22 New London is closed due to high water until further notice
• October 27, 2006 -- Mariners are advised of high water flows on the Oneida, Oswego and Seneca Rivers due to recent heavy rainfall
• October 26, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that all lighted navigation aids on the waters of Oneida and Cayuga Lakes will be replaced with unlighted channel spar markers for winter maintenance, starting on Wednesday, November 1, 2006

• October 16, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal from the East Avenue Lift Bridge (E-187) in Holley, west to Tonawanda, has been reopened to traffic
• October 13, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal from the East Avenue Lift Bridge (E-187) in Holley, west to Tonawanda, is closed due to weather conditions
• October 5, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that mooring accommodations are available to the public at selected locations between Locks E-8 and E-15
• September 27, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the phone at lock E-11 on the Erie Canal is back in service
• September 26, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, September 28th, the water level between Lock E-32 in Pittsford and Lock E-33 in Rochester will be lowered to winter level
• September 22, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the phone at lock E-11 on the Erie Canal is temporarily out of service
• September 16, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that beginning today, Saturday, September 16, and extending to October 15, daily hours of operation on the Canal System will be 7 AM to 7 PM daily
• August 31, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that National Weather Service forecasting places portions of the Canal System in the projected path of Hurricane Ernesto
• August 29, 2006 -- The New York State Canal Corporation has been informed that Brookfield Power will begin to lower the water level above the dam at Lock 0-5, on the Oswego Canal, to approximately 1.8 feet below normal, late Tuesday evening, August 29th
• August 28, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the Waterford Canal Harbor will be closed to vessel traffic from 12 PM Thursday, September 7th to 5 PM Sunday, September 10th for the Waterford Tugboat Roundup
• August 24, 2006 -- Cayuga-Seneca Lock 2&3 will be closed on Saturday, August 26th, from 8:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. during a fireworks display
• August 23, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that phone service from Erie Canal Lock E-10 to Lock E-15 has been restored
• August 23, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the pool level between Lock C-3 and Lock C-4 will be lowered
• August 18, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal between Locks E-9 and E-11 will re-open to traffic on August 19, 2006 at 7:00 AM. As of that date, the entire New York State Canal System will be open to navigation.
• August 17, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the Southeast inlet of Cayuga Lake at Ithaca will be restricted to boaters beginning Tuesday, August 22nd and extending through Friday, August 25th from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day
• August 16, 2006 -- Locks E2 through E6 on the Erie Canal will be closed today at 7:00 PM for routine inspection

• June 12, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that on Wednesday, June 14th, 2006 the Oswego Canal at Lock 1 in Phoenix will be closed for maintenance from 8:00 AM until 12:00 noon
• June 12, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that levels have receded to allow for normal bridge height clearances on the Champlain Canal
• June 9, 2006 -- Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal from Lock 8 in Scotia to Lock 12 in Tribes Hill will reopen today at 9:00 am
