NOTICE TO
MARINERS
Erie, Champlain and Oswego Canals
Closure
October 29, 2006
Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal from Lock E-2 in
Waterford to Lock
E-27 in Lyons is closed, along with the entire Champlain and Oswego
Canals and Lock C/S-1 on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal. These closures are
due to high water and dangerous winds.
Mariners should be aware of high water, debris and high wind
conditions in Canal sections that remain open.
For updates and information, mariners are advised to monitor 1-800-4CANAL4 and
www.canals.state.ny.us.
