NOTICE TO
MARINERS
Oneida and Cayuga Lake
Navigation Aids
October 26, 2006
Mariners are advised that all lighted navigation aids on the
waters of Oneida and Cayuga Lakes will be replaced with unlighted
channel spar markers for winter maintenance, starting on Wednesday,
November 1, 2006. These markers will not be detected by radar.
Eastbound traffic will still be able to observe the Sylvan Beach
lighthouse and pier markers and/or lighting for entrance into the
eastbound Canal. Westbound traffic will still be able to observe the
Route 81 bridge and/or lighting for entrance into the westbound
Canal.
For updates and information, mariners are advised to monitor 1-800-4CANAL4 and
www.canals.state.ny.us.
