NOTICE TO
MARINERS
Champlain and Erie Canals
Opening
July 24, 2006
Mariners are advised that the Champlain Canal is open for
navigation and water levels have returned to normal.
The Erie Canal from Lock E-11 in Amsterdam to Lock E-16 in
Mindenville and Lock E-8 in Scotia is open for navigation. The Erie
Canal remains closed between Lock E-9 in Rotterdam and Lock E-11 in
Amsterdam.
Boaters should be aware of floating debris and some buoys may be
off station.
For updates and information, mariners are advised to monitor 1-800-4CANAL4 and
www.canals.state.ny.us.
