MARINERS
Erie Canal Lock E-6 and E-7
Lowered Water Levels
July 17, 2006
Water levels above Lock E-6 will be lowered by one foot below
normal navigation levels on Monday evening, July 17, 2006, to repair
flashboards damaged by flooding on this level. This repair work will
be performed on Tuesday July 18th.
Water levels will be lowered by two feet above Lock E-7 on the
evening of Tuesday, July 18th. Repairs will be performed on this
level Wednesday, July 19th & Thursday July 20th.
It is anticipated that these repairs will be completed by
Thursday evening, July 20th when water levels will be returned to
normal navigation pool.
Boaters should be aware that these lower water levels may affect
some vessels left in shallow water.
