NOTICE TO
MARINERS
October 23, 2005
Erie Canal
Mariners are advised that the Erie Canal in the
vicinity of Bridge E-79 in Plainsville, NY will be closed for
periods of time on October 24 and October 25. These channel closures
will be temporary and less than two hours each instance. Traffic on
scene will be coordinated by the New York State Police. Mariners
transiting this area on these days should contact the New York State
Police Marine Patrol on channel 13 or 16 VHF for instructions.
These closures are necessitated by the removal of
the former Bridge E-79, which has been replaced with a new
structure, by Cianbro Construction. The area in question is
located between Cross Lake and Baldwinsville, NY.
