NEW YORK STATE CANAL SYSTEM
NOTICE TO
MARINERS
October 7, 2005
The National Weather Service has forecast four to
six inches of rainfall over much of New York State during the next
24 hours. Mariners should expect elevated water levels and increased
water flows as rainfall continues. Bridge clearances may be reduced,
and increased debris may be encountered in certain areas of the
waterway.
Heavy rainfall in certain areas of the Canal System
may necessitate delays or closures. Any such delays or closures will
be published in subsequent notices. Mariners are advised to navigate
with caution and to monitor NOAA weather radio.
