Thank you for your interest in the 2003 Canal Cruise.
Unfortunately, due to a variety of factors, the New York
State Canal Corporation has reluctantly decided to postpone
this year's event.
Some Canalside communities have informed us that due to
fiscal constraints, their ability to properly host Canal
Cruise related events this year would be affected.
Additionally, private boater groups and associations have
expressed interest in offering similar events on the Canal
System, and we want to give these private efforts an
opportunity to grow and thrive along the Canal System.
Anyone who has already registered for the Canal Cruise will
be refunded their money, but we invite you to keep the season
pass and Cruising Guide, free of charge.
We hope you will consider cruising on our Canal System this
year on your own or with friends. If you would like an
itinerary designed for you that would be similar to that of
the Canal Cruise, please feel free to contact John Callaghan,
our Boater Resource Specialist, at (518) 471-5016. He will be
happy to answer any of your questions and to help you select
Canal ports that will enhance your cruising experience on our
historic waterway.
